Roxana Cocos – APRN, MSN, FNP-C
Roxana graduated with honors (cum laude) from the University of Texas in Dallas with a Bachelors in Neuroscience as well as from the Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelors in Nursing. In 2011, she completed her education with a Master of Science in Nursing from the Texas Woman’s University.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner she has worked in Family Practice, in Primary Care, Urgent Care and in Endocrinology, giving her a well-rounded foundation of experience in treating patients.
She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, a proud member of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine and of the Academy of Preventive and Innovative Medicine.
Roxana is passionate about personalized health and medicine. While working as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she found the “pill for every ill” model dysfunctional and misleading, as simply treating the symptoms rather than the causes, not only failed to resolve the patients’ conditions, but often caused even more side effects. In her search to solve this puzzle, she was introduced to Integrative Health and Medicine while attending a conference. She has completed with honors the two-year postgraduate fellowship in Integrative Health and Medicine.
Roxana is driven to empower patients, through use of many resources for high quality diagnostics and education, to take control of their own health and to help guide them on their paths to wellness.
Amanda Hoelscher – APRN, A/GPCNP
Nurse Practitioner Amanda Hoelscher attended the University of Central Florida and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Nursing degree from the University of South Florida. Her advanced education includes a Master’s of Science degree from the University of South Florida in both Oncology and Adult-Gerontology to become a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
She is board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and nationally certified in both Advanced Oncology and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care. Amanda is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Oncology Nursing Society.
Her career as a Nurse Practitioner includes working at UT Southwestern Medical Center focusing on Clinical Trials in Oncology and Radiation Oncology. Additionally, she’s been a Nurse Practitioner at a hormone clinic which also focused on hormone balance, wellness, and weight loss.
Amanda has always had a genuine compassion for people and a desire to help them. In her spare time, she works with Medical Ministries International where she is able to travel on mission trips to places such as Sababa Grande and the Dominican Republic. There she has been able to broaden her experience and education by working in primary care, women’s wellness, and in general surgery in the nurse practitioner role.
Practicing in Oncology has provided Amanda with a wide knowledge base and extensive experience. She realized that the conventional medicine model of spending only 15 minutes per appointment with her patients wasn’t enough time to provide the all-inclusive and quality level of care that they needed. This increased her the desire to look at patients holistically and individually, rather than practicing the traditional medical model and the “one size fits all” approach to medicine.
Amanda was challenged with a debilitating illness personally and discovered that she also needed a more integrative approach from her own doctors in order to heal.
It was with this in mind that she searched for a practice that would allow her to provide the kind of care, attention, and cutting edge medical research and knowledge needed to truly help each patient she worked with, and she has found this at Renewed Vitality. We welcome her knowledge, experience, and compassion for helping her patients improve their quality of life.
Amanda looks at the whole patient picture. She enjoys educating patients and helping them to make needed lifestyle changes in order to achieve optimum health. This includes overseeing hormone balancing for both men and women, treatment of thyroid disorders, weight loss, and overall health and nutrition.
She listens to her patients and gains a full understanding of what they have been experiencing. With this understanding and the correct use of diagnostic tools and labs, Amanda works to find the root cause of underlying issues and address these to achieve long-term wellness for each of her patients.
