IV and injection therapies are protocols that complement your treatment plans and are used to boost the immune system, rid the body of toxins and infections, provide pain relief, and provide nutritional support.

EDTA IV
The EDTA (Edetate Calcium Disodium) IV is used to rid the body of heavy metal toxins. Heavy metal toxicity in humans has been associated with many health conditions, including heart disease, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Alzheimer’s disease, immune system disorders, gastrointestinal disorders (including irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS), and autism.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved EDTA chelation therapy as a treatment for lead and heavy metal poisoning. It is also used as an emergency treatment for hypercalcemia (excessive calcium levels) and the control of ventricular arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) associated with digitalis toxicity.
Chelation therapy is intravenous (IV) administration of Chelation therapy of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, or EDTA. At Renewed Vitality this typically takes between 10-12 treatments, each one taking between 1-3 hours. The word “chelate” comes from the Greek root “chele,” which means “to claw.” EDTA’s structure is “claw-like” and traps heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and other toxins from the bloodstream. It forms into a solution that is water-soluble so that it can be excreted in the urine. One month after the last IV, the patient will have a urine test to reassess heavy metals in the body.
Nutritional IV
The Renewed Vitality Nutritional IV is based on the Myer’s cocktail IV which was formulated over 30 years ago by the late John Myers, MD. It contains all of the same ingredients except for a couple of trace minerals. The ingredients include ascorbic acid (vitamin-c), Acetyl-L-Carnitine, vitamin-B complex, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, Calcium gluconate, vitamin B-5, Lidocaine, Magnesium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, tyrosine, and glutathione.
The Nutritional IV can be effective at increasing blood levels of nutrients and may improve the transport of nutrients from the blood into the cells. It is given intravenously because intravenous nutrients can attain serum concentrations that are not obtainable via other routes of administration. Various nutrients have shown to exert pharmacological effects, which can only be achieved if done intravenously.
Two-time Nobel Laureate Dr. Linus Pauling was a staunch supporter of Vitamin C for healing a wide variety of health problems. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant that helps the immune system ward off bacterial and viral infections. It also makes certain metabolic processes work better. The Nutritional IV can be beneficial for patients suffering with:

It is best to prepare for the Myers’ by drinking plenty of water and having food in your stomach before you come into the office. Some patients may experience a general flushing feeling, lightheadedness, and/or a taste of the vitamins.
The Renewed Vitality Nutritional IV is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive therapy that is well tolerated by most people. It carries a low risk of serious adverse side effects. If the protocol is administered quickly there may be a sensation of warmth and flushing. This is due to the rapid rise of magnesium. Some patients may also have the taste of vitamins in their mouth shortly after they are given the infusion.
Viral Plus – Initial IV
The Viral Plus Initial IV is the first IV given in a sequence of anti-viral IVs. It contains 10,000 mg less vitamin C than the subsequent viral plus IVs to allow the patient’s body to first adjust to a smaller dose before receiving the larger dose. Vitamin C affects the immune system by improving antimicrobial and natural killer cell activities, lymphocyte proliferation, and chemotaxis. Both the Viral Plus –Initial IV and Viral Plus Subsequent IV contain 40 mg of glycyrrhizinate. Glycyrrhizinate, commonly known as licorice root, is effective against a wide array of human viruses. Glycyrrhizinate acts directly as an antiviral to inhibit RNA transcription and also acts indirectly against a number of viruses by decreasing cell membrane permeability, making it more difficult for the virus to infect host cells. Additionally, glycyrrhizinate can inactivate viruses and inhibit viral growth.
Viral Plus – Subsequent IV
The Viral Plus – Subsequent IV has all of the benefits of the Viral Plus – Initial IV, and it additionally contains 10,000 mg more vitamin C, glutathione, and sodium bicarbonate. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant in itself. It also enables the other antioxidants in the body to work and eliminates them when they have been degraded by free radicals. Studies have shown nearly all seriously ill individuals to be deficient in glutathione. Sodium bicarbonate acts to replenish electrolytes and improve the body’s pH.
Super Viral IV
Some patients present with persistent, latent viral infections. When solutions to treat infection and augment the body’s intrinsic immune response are given intravenously, the digestive system is bypassed and a much higher level of solutions can be delivered directly to the cells via the bloodstream. Like the Viral Plus IV, the Super Viral IV contains glycyrrhizinate in the same amount. However, it contains even more vitamin C than the Viral Plus –subsequent IV doses and quadruple the amount of sodium bicarbonate. It does not contain glutathione, but it can be added if desired.
Through the administration of an intravenous solution that includes the aforementioned solutions, an individual may experience a significant improvement in the ability to fight infection. It has been observed that some patients who receive a series of super-viral IV infusions experience a Herxheimer reaction. Herxheimer’s reaction is a result of toxins released by dying harmful microorganisms during antibiotic or viral treatment. It may include fever, chills, malaise, and other flu-like symptoms as the viral load is impacted. Natural supplements can be recommended that can greatly alleviate the effects of Herxheimer’s reaction.
Trigger Point Injection
Trigger point injections can be used to treat pain from a number of conditions including fibromyalgia, tension headache, and myofascial pain syndrome. Trigger points are focal areas of spasm and inflammation in skeletal muscle. The rhomboid and trapezius back muscles, located in the upper back and shoulder areas, are a common site of trigger points. In addition to the upper spine, trigger points can also occur in the low back or less commonly in the extremities.
Often there is a palpable nodule in the muscle where the trigger point is located. The area is tender, and frequently when pushed, pain radiates from the trigger point itself to an area around the trigger point. They may also occur with tension headache and jaw pain. Acute trauma or repetitive minor injury can lead to the development of trigger points.
Trigger point injections contain hydroxocobalamin (a type of vitamin B-12), along with Depo Medrol, Marcaine, and Xylocaine which are all anesthetics that help provide relief from pain and swelling.

Testosterone Injection
Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, associate professor at Harvard Medical School and director of Men’s Health Boston specializes in treating male sexual and reproductive difficulties. He is considered an expert in men’s hormones.
Dr. Morgentaler wrote, “It could be said that testosterone is what makes men, men. It gives them their characteristic deep voices, large muscles, and facial and body hair, distinguishing them from women. It stimulates the growth of the genitals at puberty, plays a role in sperm production, fuels libido, and contributes to normal erections. It also fosters the production of red blood cells, boosts mood, and aids cognition. At about age 30 testosterone levels begin to decline by 1% – 3% per year. Immunoglobulin Injection
This injection bolsters the immune system because it adds additional antibodies. The term “immunoglobulin” refers to the part of blood plasma that contains immunoglobulins, or antibodies. While there are different types of immunoglobulins in the human body, just the IgG is purified from the plasma to make Ig products. According to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, Ig was first used to prevent infectious diseases in World War II and first given for primary immunodeficiency diseases in 1952.
B-12 Injection
Vitamin B12 helps your body use fat and carbohydrates for energy and make new proteins. It is also important for normal blood, cells, and nerves. Serious vitamin B12 deficiency may result in anemia, stomach problems, and nerve damage.
Slim Shot
The slim shot contains a blend of vitamin C, vitamin B-1, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-3, vitamin B-5, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, choline, and the amino acid methionine. These ingredients work synergistically to give a boost of energy, raise the metabolism, and can be used in conjunction with the Vitality Diet to overcome a weight loss plateau. They can be taken up to twice a week.
Energy Injection
The Energy Injection provides a burst of energy and a boost to the metabolism. It contains the powerful antioxidant and immune booster glutathione, vitamin B-12 which is critical to energy production, and sodium bicarbonate which helps replenish electrolytes.
Super B
The Super B injection boasts all the same ingredients and benefits as the Slim Shot, and it also has glutathione which is a powerful antioxidant in itself.
Glutathione
Glutathione is frequently called, “the mother of all antioxidants,” and is thought to be a powerful antioxidant by itself. It helps activate other antioxidants in the body to work and eliminates them when they have been degraded by free radicals. Glutathione is also crucial for detoxification in the body and helps with healthy mental and physical performance. While the body does produce glutathione, a poor diet, toxins, stress, infections, trauma, and even normal aging can all cause glutathione to be depleted.
Iron
Different things can cause low iron levels in the body which can lead to anemia. A diet low in iron-rich foods can contribute to this, or the body can also have problems absorbing iron despite eating a healthy diet. Adequate levels of iron are also crucial for red blood cell production and are needed to help carry oxygen throughout the body.
Rocephin
Rocephin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Xylocaine
Xylocaine (lidocaine) is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking the nerve signals in your body, and in turn reducing pain and or discomfort.
