In fact, according to the CDC, obesity is now considered a national epidemic!
The first step to the prevention of chronic disease is to lose weight. Some chronic diseases can also be reversed by losing weight. We are here to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Not only will you gain confidence, but you will also experience better overall health. You will have more energy and better quality of life!

Benefits of the Semaglutide Weight Loss Plan
The biggest benefit of Semaglutide is that you will feel full for longer periods of time. It also keeps your body in fat-burning mode. The medication regulates blood sugar and targets fat cells.
You will need to eat a “clean” diet of nutrient-dense foods and proteins. If you start to eat healthier foods, you will feel good and have higher amounts of energy. We also recommend drinking at least 80 ounces of water per day to avoid dehydration and add some exercise to your lifestyle. As you lose weight and depending on how much you lose, you may lose muscle mass along with fat. Exercise and a healthy diet will help prevent this. If you haven’t exercised in a while and
Our patients who have changed their eating patterns say it’s fairly easy to do because of the medication. As you proceed with your weight loss journey, you will automatically start to develop healthier eating habits that can last a lifetime.
Exercise is not mandatory to lose weight on the Semaglutide program. But, we do recommend that you start incorporating exercise into your lifestyle because of all the additional health benefits. If you haven’t exercised in a while, just going out for a walk can be the fresh start that you need.
Other Benefits of the Semaglutide Program can Include:
- Increased levels of energy
- Greatly reduces hunger
- Better sleep
- Helps with insulin pathways and blood sugar levels
- The longer you stay on the program, the better you will feel
- You can expect to lose 15% of your body weight on average, but this also depends on how much weight you want to lose
What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a peptide that mimics a naturally occurring peptide in the body. Called GLP-1, or glucagon-like-peptide. It reduces appetite. It also helps to keep your blood sugar regulated. And, it activates specific metabolic pathways in your body which increases blood sugar metabolism and reduces hunger.
Semagltude, marketed under such brand names as Ozempic®, and Wegovy®, was FDA-approved to treat Type 2 Diabetes in 2017. Further studies and research showed that Semaglutide is also suitable for weight loss. In June, 2021, the FDA approved Semaglutide to help people lose weight.
At Renewed Vitality, we prescribe Semaglutide. All of our patients start off at a lower dose for the first month to allow their bodies to adjust to the medication. Depending on how you respond, we can increase your dosage monthly. Or, if you are losing weight on the originally prescribed dosage, we can keep you at that same level. This weight loss plan can be repeated as needed, depending on how much weight you want to lose.
The medication is injected subcutaneously once per week. Because the needle is not injected into a muscle, it’s quite painless.
Our Semaglutide weight loss program includes:
- An initial appointment with our Nurse Practitioner, Taylor Troup
- A follow-up appointment with Taylor after 1-month
- 3-month follow-up with Taylor
Your First Appointment
Taylor will discuss the diet program, your overall current state of health, and your health goals. You will be sent for your initial set of labs which include, a CBC (complete blood count), CMP (complete metabolic panel), and a full thyroid panel. However, depending on your health history and current health status, we may run additional labs as needed. We want to ensure your safety first and foremost.
We also offer our protein powder for purchase if you are interested. Also, to aid in your weight loss and help keep your energy up, we also offer B12 Injections as needed for a cost of $20 each.
*note: labs are not included in the program’s initial cost. You can use your insurance for labs. If you do not have insurance or you have a high deductible, we offer a highly discounted rate if you go through Quest. At your appointment, Taylor may add additional labs as needed, however, the prices will still be deeply discounted if you are paying cash.
Your Second Appointment
Taylor will go over your initial labs with you and review your progress on the weight loss plan. You both will have the opportunity to discuss how you are feeling and Taylor can answer any other questions that you may have.
Taylor Troup, FNP, will be available to answer questions for you throughout the program. The best way to contact her with your questions is to send her a direct message through your patient portal.
Your Third Appointment
This appointment takes place 3 months after the second. We will contact you prior to this appointment to repeat your labs so that we can discuss them when you arrive for your appointment. Taylor can also answer any questions you may have and discuss your progress, and whether or not you would like to continue with the program.
Should you decide to continue with the Semaglutide program after this, you will be given another RX at your third visit for 3-months of medication. For patients who want to do the program longer-term, we will schedule follow-up maintenance appointments every 3-months.
The length of time that you choose to continue on the program is up to you, depending on how much weight you want to lose. Patients wishing to lose a lot of weight usually stay on the program for 1-year.
Side -Effects
It’s normal to feel a little nauseous for the first few days after beginning the program as your body adjusts to the medication. Should you continue to experience nausea after the first few days, please contact Taylor via your patient portal and she can help you and decide what’s best to proceed.
